What a whippet does

Ribsy couldn't resist. He knows everyone's tired of seeing this meme pop up everywhere, but really, this is the perfect way to explain the much misunderstood whippet.

The Bark Side of the Whippet

By now, you have seen this commercial. Ribsy wants to post this here on his blog though, so he can watch this over and over again. It's not every day that a whippet enters the mainstream consciousness of awesome.

Also, he wonders if he can rock the AT-AT costume come this Halloween.

A skinny hound starring in a commercial for thin crackers. How very apropos.

 

They've got style collared

Ribsy and Mirabel are thoroughly enjoying the attention they're garnering from their new Classic Hound collar-and-leash sets.

Ribsy shows off his Got Wasabi 1.5-inch Martingale collar and matching tag collar. 

Not to be outdone, pesky Mirabel strikes a pose in her Festoon pattern.

The cinch loop of the Martingale collars allow Ribsy and Mirabel to wear their collars comfortably as they rest loosely on their necks, and tightens only when they need to be snug around the neck - usually when they're lunging after a squirrel, or when Mirabel's in full-out ugly walk mode. The matching leash affixes to the Martingale collars, allowing Girl to easily slip them off when they're running at the park or in the woods. The smaller tag collar, to which their ID tags are affixed, stays on the entire time.

The overall quality is outstanding. The collar lining is thick and smooth for the whippets, while the leash features durable metal hardware and an adjustable padded handle that's comfortable for Girl.

Prime time whippet

First, an almost-best-in-show at Westminster, and now this: a starring role in a TV commercial. Alongside a basset hound, this whippet shows you what a wonderful, mainstream dog it makes as it romps in the backyard, speeds up the stairs, shops at Petsmart and eats dry kibble without a fuss.
