An out-of-town guest can only mean one thing: a road trip to Niagara Falls!

A couple of hours later, Mirabel is seen sporting a fat lip from a bee sting whilst strolling along the planter-filled sidewalks of Niagara-on-the-Lake:
"Hahahahaha," Ribsy laughed.
A Good Friday turned out to be a Great Friday, thanks in part to unseasonable, summer-like 25 degree weather. Ribsy and Mirabel thoroughly enjoyed their hike through the Elora Gorge Conservation Area, happily following the leader of the pack with smiles on their faces and wagging of their tails, whether it be exploring the riverside trail...

Or simply gazing deep into his eyes.
You will be sorely missed, Boy.
Mirabel loves Montreal. Along with Ribsy, she was constantly festooned with attention while hanging out in the hotel lobby and walking around the streets during their quick roadie this past weekend.
She simply couldn't get enough of the city. Here she is, soaking up the atmosphere. Or maybe she was just sniffing out the smell of smoked meat outside Reuben's.
She dug that there was an off-leash dog park a few blocks away. Ribsy delivers his most menacing look of intimidation to throw his pesky sister off her game.
The next day the pack strolled shivered around the quaint streets of Old Montreal, where much to Mirabel's delight, was littered with pigeons. Squirrels with wings!
Ribsy, meanwhile, found that the cobblestoned streets formed a nice backdrop to his stylish DogGoneChic mocknecked BodyShirt and his graceful whippet lines.
Mirabel would like to thank a certain ageless moneymaker-shakin' wonder and his band for providing Girl with a perfect excuse to take them to Montreal. Please come back soon.
Yesterday Mirabel went to her first ever Peach of a Celebration at Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Having visited in 2007, Ribsy showed her how it's done:
1. Put on your most charming face to get lots of attention from other festival-goers, and to possibly score a taste of the treats on the street.
2. Eat steamed corn on the cob with gusto:
3. Stay focused in the hot sunshine, for the sweet stuff is sure to come.
4. And try not to look too desperate as you wait for stuff like this peach cheesecake:

Ribsy and Mirabel convinced Girl to go on a five-hour roadie trek to North Bay this weekend. During a snack stop at the pet store in town, they inquired about local whippets. The clerk only knew of one small female whippet. Poor thing. She probably thinks she's the only one of her kind out there in the world.
North Bay's in a pretty setting by the lake, but make no mistake, you are in a city. Here they are running by the 'decorated' facilities at the beach on Trout Lake:
And it's shadfly season. Attracted to street lights, these insects swarm in such abundance that they can form a slippery film between cars and the road, thus increasing the risk for accidents. Over the next two to three weeks, shadfly carcesses pile up everywhere. At least they don't bite.
Ribsy and Mirabel also hiked out to the picturesque Duchesnay Falls, scrambling on rocks and dodging pesky insects along the way...
...and took in a leisurely stroll along North Bay's waterfront boardwalk, watching as swimmers, boaters and fishers alike enjoyed the benefits of Lake Nipissing.
And then, as quickly as it happened, another Ontario Roadie was done.
