Meet Max.
Max is a sweet, handsome, older whippet who lives with his sporty people in the neighborhood. He's lost his teeth and he's walking a bit slower these days, but he always greets Ribsy and Mirabel with the most dignified nose manners and a graceful wag of his tail.
Ribsy and Mirabel just want to say how much Max rocks.
As evident from the blog banner and from yesterday's post and countless others, snouts are a favorite body part on the Snippets. Girl loves getting wet nose pokes, holding the snout to gaze directly into the eyes, and running her finger along the ridge that extends from the blacks of the nose to the tops of the cranium. It's such a grab-able, fascinating part of their anatomy. The snout just makes a whippet so, well, whippety.
And the snouts belonging to them bigger cousin greyhounds are just as wondrous. In fact, Ribsy has some serious snout envy going on here. Check out the beak on handsome Harley who lives in Utah with Jan of Expressive Papers.
5-year-old Roman the whippet, who lives with his people in Connecticut, can lay claim to something rather special. He's been immortalized as a LEGO model. LEGO Roman's job? To remain loyally by his camera-toting owner's side to keep her from falling over.
What a good whippet boy!

Introducing Pennier, the hard-working CEO (and BodyShirt model) of DogGoneChic, designers of sportswear for the 4-legged athlete (aka, whippets).
Photo of Pennier taken by the lovely RNOF (Ribsy's Number One Fan) who snagged an invitation to an exclusive whippets-only birthday party in Portland, Oregon on the weekend. RNOF also supplied the tie and served as the pupparazzi.

Boy and Girl have been fans of Flight of the Conchords, New Zealand's fourth most popular digi-folk duo, for a little while, before they started getting all popular and stuff with their own big deal show on HBO and all. But that devotion doesn't compare to the owner of What the Folk! - the first and best fan website devoted to spreading the word about FOTC. Anyhoo, there are two points to be made in this entry.
First, to brag. Boy and Girl are super excited to be watching FOTC live at Massey Hall in Toronto in April. Thankfully Girl's seasoned Ticketmastering - no doubt thanks to her Bon Jovi obsession of 2008 - resulted in prime centre orchestra seats. Both Toronto shows have been long sold out.
Second, to create an excuse to post more whippet photos. The creator of What the Folk! happens to be a Twitter pal of Ribsy's, and has a whippet herself.

Puppies.

So this unofficial Whippet Puppy Week thing that's going on might as well continue. Not only are they irresistibly cute, but these puppies also lead to unexpected connections.
Take this for instance: Ribsy learned that Deva in Calgary is actually the littermate of Santos in Vancouver. Small whippet world indeed.
But wait. It gets even smaller. Ribsy came across a littermate of Elsie in Victoria!
Introducing pretty Poppy, who is going to start her new life in Edmonton very soon.
Believe it or not, Ribsy has another puppy welcome to make today.
Hello Deva!
Four month old Deva is the newest addition to Bailey's pack, and don't they look so comfy and close already?
Bailey, who lives in Calgary, is Ribsy's blog pal. He has very talented pupparazzi tracking his moves at the park and at home. Ribsy looks forward to seeing many more stunning photos of the pair in the months and years to come.
That's because he's bigger than her, sniffed Ribsy - who's obviously still not over the fact that Boy and Girl brought home a little sister who turned out to be gargantuan.
