Mirabel has a much bigger hunting instinct than Ribsy. So much so that she can be gone for 10 to 15 minutes at a time in the woods. Usually her return is marked by breathlessness and not much else but a recent foray resulted in this bloody look. She won't confess as to what happened but Ribsy suspects she nabbed a rabbit. He is disgusted by her behavior but slightly jealous at the same time. Darn that skilled pesky sister!
