More whippet art for you folks today. Presenting Princess With Whippets. Girl sees a bit of herself with Ribsy and Mirabel in this piece.
Yea right! It is a very beautiful print though. Girl likes how the girl seems to be floating in her little world here.

Raise your paws if you've never participated in an Egg and Spoon race. Girl hasn't - she had to Google it to figure out exactly what it was all about.
The goal is to carry a raw egg on a spoon all the way to a finish line without dropping it. Girl never got to experience this fun during her elementary school Sports Days - instead the teachers just put them through boring 100-metre dashes and the like.
But what if whippets participated in an egg and spoon race? How would they do? Here's what it might look like:
Girl especially likes that gray brindle who's carrying his teddy bear whilst racing with the egg.
If Ribsy raced? The egg probably wouldn't be on the spoon anymore. Nor would it be on the ground. *Burp*

How are we supposed to relax in the sunshine if you keep snapping photo after photo of us? Girl, give the camera a break, will ya, and just soak in the rays with us.

Girl remembers so clearly, as if it were yesterday, the experience of bringing Ribsy home. Cradled in Boy's arms, young Ribsy trembled throughout the entire car ride - so much so that Girl pulled over a couple of times to see if the poor nervous pup needed to barf or pee.
Fast forward to today, and Ribsy is approaching his 5th birthday. Girl can't imagine not having Ribsy in her life. He is her first dog, and she does not know how it's going to hit her when he passes on. She downright fears the moment when her little Magoo isn't there to lovingly nudge her with his snout anymore.
Fortunately whippets are generally healthy and one of the longer living breeds. With luck and good care, Ribsy will live for many, many happy years to come.
But sooner or later, no matter how strong the will or fighting the spirit, every dog must say its goodbye.
Girl came across a touching tribute to Finn the whippet, who passed away at the age of 15.

Meet Carrie the baby squirrel. Even Mirabel the huntress has to admit that she's awfully cute. Of course, in real life, it would have naturally, instinctually, been a different verdict.
It's a whippet-chase-squirrel world out there.
By the way, did you know that there is a Marvel comic character by the very name of Squirrel Girl?
Oh but today it certainly is!

Love Girl, Ribsy and Mirabel
Ribsy and Mirabel rarely show off their tongues. That's because they're usually walking at a comfortable pace while Girl is running her butt off. Or maintaining a snooty, uppity look when passing other dogs on leash.
But today at the park, they let them all hang out as frisbee toss after toss, Ribsy and Mirabel went at it in a fierce battle for ultimate whippet supremacy. In the end, Girl declared a tie, and the dogs went home spent, panting and smiling all the while.
Ahh, beautiful Ribsy. Quite frequently mistaken for a girl whippet. Despite a green coat, a camouflage collar and leash, and man parts, he still got a "What a pretty girl you are!" comment today.
Ribsy doesn't mind. A compliment's a compliment.
People mean well, they just don't always say the right thing.
