Ribsy admits that it's easy to take your kibble and your warm bed and your ability to outrun every other dog in the park for granted. But what if, in an instant, your life changed forever?
On October 20, 2008, on a morning after errands, a ride to the dog park turned into a nightmare for Lizzie Mead and her two rescued greyhounds, Rider and Opal.
In the blink of an eye, a reckless driver plowed into Lizzie’s truck at 60 mph. The bad guy took off, leaving an injured Lizzie, Rider and Opal behind.
Both greys have beat the odds and are recovering. So far the vet bill has totaled $13,962.01 but there have been follow up visits not yet added to this amount. And so it continues, like life, day by day.
Friends, including the local Arizona Greyhound Rescue group has rallied around Lizzie to help pay off the costs to save Rider and Opal's lives. One way you can help? Buy a beautiful, one-of-a-kind bracelet. There are many to choose from! Here's the one that Mirabel chose to buy:
