Now, whippets, for obvious reasons, do not make the same New Year's resolutions as humans do, ie. quit smoking, lose weight, get more exercise. But they do enjoy partaking in the annual tradition, all the same.
Ribsy's resolution? To stop peeing on his own leg. It's an ongoing issue. He's got quite the graceful arch, but sometimes - most particularly in the morning - he just hasn't got enough stretch to arc beyond his goalposts. So that poor, poor front leg gets sprinkled. Occasionally even doused. But that is a little more than you really needed to know, wasn't it?
And Mirabel's resolutions (note pluralization)...where to begin! To stop barking at Ribsy during mealtimes, to stop eating poop, to not tug like an ox all easily spring to Girl's mind. But of course, Mira doesn't feel she has a need to make any resolutions whatsoever. When pressed by Girl, she scratched her slender head thoughtfully and finally came up with:
"To not get caught surfing the counter."
