Kin-dred Halloween spirits

What's a Ribsy-and-Mirabel Halloween without a whip-o-lantern? Here's this year's design:

And it looks pretty nice alongside the Obama Kin!

Pump'd for Obama

 

Senator Obama is about to go on air for a full 30 minutes on network television stations everywhere!

Ribsy and Mirabel can't believe Girl spent two hours carving this pumpkin likeness of him. Usually she prefers other, more houndy subjects, but it's not everyday you can carve into a politician.

Scary things

Only days away from Halloween, Ribsy and Mirabel present, in no particular order, some scary things.

A police car rolls up to the park where Ribsy and Mirabel are illegally running and spinning the rubber pizza:

But the scariest thing of all?

It ain't no pit bull...it's Barack

Di-fur-sity

As Ribsy has discovered time and time again, a road trip for Boy and Girl isn't a true road trip without snaps of other furry animals. Here's Romeo, a stylish Italian greyhound spotted in Central Park:

Where in the world were the whippets this weekend?

 

As Mirabel is American and Ribsy is half (his pop's from Seattle), the pack were overdue for a quick weekend roadie down to the States (three States, to be exact). They enjoyed getting completely festooned wherever they went, as their elegant, coated gaits drew many an onlooker, most notably in swank Haddonfield, New Jersey. The presidential campaign signs only wished they could get as much attention.

And as you can tell by the Obama/Biden sign and the snap from Scranton, Pennyslvania (where Joe Biden's from), Ribsy and Mirabel are doggedly Democrat.

Boy and Girl did manage to sneak a side trip, sans whippet, up to NYC where they visited Ground Zero, haggled for knock offs on Canal Street, ambled through Central Park, and ate truffled pizza in SoHo.

A second trip down to Long Point was a slam dunk for Ribsy and Mirabel.
 

Who needs a Thanksgiving turkey when you've got Mirabel?

A super sunny Thanksgiving weekend means only one thing to Ribsy and Mirabel - outdoor fun! First up on tap was Christie Lake conservation area. Other than a few family gatherings around the barbecue, the whips had the parkland to themselves. Confidently, they ran - and ran. Mirabel was in her element, and she was showing off. Dashing into the woods, springing over tall grasses, zooming around corners...

And then she fell off a dock into murky lakeside water:

Boy pulled her out:

But as quickly as she fell in and got rescued, Mirabel was back to her old, muscular self:

Chasing critters in the muddy woods, she emerges proudly with her blackened hooves:

Which means it's back in the water for Mirabel - this time for a impromptu lake bath with Boy:
