Ribsy and Mirabel are still a bit slothy, still in recovery mode from their full overnight camping adventure in breathtaking Prince Edward County - an Ontario treasure that they first discovered last year on their impromptu jaunt around Lake Ontario.

Foodie highlights included Buddha Dog in downtown Picton, voted Canada's best hot dog, where you start with a basic hot dog on which you select your desired cheese and gourmet sauce. And being that their specialty is dogs, it's only natural that they're dog friendly too. Ribsy and Mirabel each got their own hot dog hash served on a platter, which they inhaled with delight.
Also in downtown Picton is the Bean Counter Cafe, where Boy and Girl noshed on gourmet roasted chicken and roast beef sandwiches.
Another foodie favorite in Prince Edward County is Slickers Ice cream in Broomfield. Handmade in small batches using fresh, local ingredients, some of the more intriguing flavours in their shoppe that day included apricot walnut, campfire creme, and peanut butter and honey.
Finally, Girl would not have been able to endure her 20+ bug bite night without the help of Barley Days Brewery's Harvest Gold Pale Ale. Boy can't wait to try their specialty Sugar Shack Ale made with local maple syrup, in early spring.
All these culinary delights are part of the Prince Edward County Taste Trail - if you're in the area, you should definitely check out some of the stops along the way!
As for the dogs, they were literally foaming at the mouth all along the trail.
As they slept blissfully in the back of the car on the way back to the Hammer, they realized that the hardest part of the trip was definitely having to go home.
