Bye bye bloggin

Ribsy's tail wags slowly and apologetically. He's sorry that he hasn't written in awhile. Lately he's been going through some deep thinking. Picture the thought bubble working overtime. He wants to write. He really does. But something is stopping him. Lack of inspiration? Lack of events? He's not sure why. What he does know is that until he figures it out, he's taking a hiatus from blogging. Yes. Until he finds his voice - if after three plus years of blogging - he still hasn't, it's time to re-evaluate the status of this whole project. Is he writing for himself? His pack? Other whippets in the world? What do they really know about him? Do you have to be confident to have a blog? Do you have to be cool? Do you have to have an interesting offline life? Do you necessarily even have to be a good writer? So Ribsy's going to hibernate for awhile. Hunker down in this emerging winter weather. Snow is coming this week. Hopefully some answers will too.

Missing: Whippet in Maple Ridge / Pitt Meadows

Lady the whippet is missing. She got spooked by firecrackers and bolted out the yard on Halloween night. If you are in the Maple Ridge / Pitt Meadow area of BC, please be on the look out for her, and if you spot her, please contact her folks - and don't try to chase her. You will not catch a whippet!

Crap and IKEA

One thing that Boy and Girl sorely miss from the good old days back in Victoria is the abundance of complimentary poop bags at the parks. Dog owners couldn't use the shrug-the-shoulder-I-don't-got-a-bag-on-me-but-I-promise-to-come-back-later-and-pick-it-up excuse. Here in the Hammer, plenty of folks have been guilty of $hit-and-run crimes. There are no free bags, and the packs they sell at the pet stores are anything but cheap.

But hello IKEA! The Swedish furniture superstars now sell poop bags, of all things. Pick up a fifty-pack for only 99 cents. Yes, that's less than 2 cents a bag. Now if only they came in a teak color.

A Global National Dogbook Whippet Star

Proof pawsitive. Ribsy was featured on Global National news tonight. Wow! The spotlight was on his Dogbook profile, plus there was some scenes of his digs and some cute kisses to Girl. Ribsy first blogged about the online craze a few months ago, but never thought he'd be featured in an on-air news segment about it!

Ribsy's going to be on Global national news tonight. Two little activites that he does, Dogbookin' & bloggin' are apparently interview-worthy. So a reporter and a camera man came out to his digs, and did a little segment on him, hence the curious post earlier. Typing while on camera, oh my!

Anyway, Girl always knew Ribsy was a star. Now a few more people will know it, too.

Everyday feels like Sunday

Girl is busy. Ribsy is bored. He wants to go to the park. But she's not paying any attention to him at the moment. Poor little whippet indeed.

"I'll explain this all to you when you're older," promised Girl.

Yawn. What a boring Sunday this is turning out to be.

Pawsitivity

A lookin' back kind of day that it is, Ribsy pulled this old shot out of the photo vault. It was taken one year ago today, on his chewed up couch in his puppyhood home in Victoria. Sometimes even doggies need to 'paws' a moment and look at how far they've come in one year's time. It's been one heck of a year, and the changes aren't stopping anytime soon. Ribsy promises he'll tell you all about them soon.
