A Hammer Halloween

Any fan of Ribsy knows that he goes all out for Halloween. From Airplane 1 to Airplane 2 to last year's prize-winning Seabiscuit, he has sported a costume every year of his life so far. Until this year.

He's sorry to report that he won't have a special outfit for tomorrow. Nor will he be immortalized on a pumpkin. Really, it's too bad because, judging by the over-the-top props and decorations on lawns and in yards, Hamiltonians go all-out for Halloween.

If he was to have a costume, however, this is what he wants to be. Just like Boy! Hmm, maybe Girl will have to go and get Ribsy's portrait done. You, too, can order up a custom mixed media picture of your favorite kitty or canine, direct from the creative folks at 2hounds Productions.

One of the few good things about being away so much is coming back with neat stuff. Boy's latest trip to Halifax yielded two right-off-the-boat lobsters, Boil and Bubble. Now that's fresh.

Ribsy gives whippets a bad name?

Ribsy was ashamed. But not anymore. He wasn't blogging as of late because he's been busy listening to Bon Jovi music. He managed to snag multiple tickets to their upcoming Lost Highway shows in Vancouver and Toronto - thank goodness for those whippet-like reflexes on the keyboard -so he's getting primed up for the once-in-a-dog's-life experience by immersing his velvety ears in old goodies such as Livin' on a Prayer, Born to be My Baby, and Bed of Roses.

Ribsy was keeping this admiration a secret. Apparently it's not in good musical taste to admit you like Bon Jovi. Girl got a few raised eyebrows at the dog park. However, he feels he must come out and blog about JBJ since they've simply got so much in common:

- Whippety frame
- Blonde
- Cute as pie
- Great pipes
- Endless fits of energy
- Irresistible to women of all ages

So there. By the way, anybody in Vancouver need tickets to the show? Ribsy's got a few extra, and he wants to sell them to you at face value, so you too can share in the euphoria that is Bon Jovi.

Baked on Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving weekend - Ribsy and pack set up the new rug in the living area to add a touch of warmth, turned off the air conditioning system, and went winter coat shopping.

But wait...they also turned ON the air conditioning in the car, ate organic ice cream in Paris, and sweltered in the humidity while hiking. Today was the hottest Thanksgiving ever: 30 degrees (39 factoring in the humidity!) and not a sign of chill anywhere. In fact, they enjoyed a barbecue dinner last night and tonight are dining al fresco on the rooftop patio.
