Aside from running amuck at the dog park, the rest of the time was spent observing Boy and Girl as they struggled (Girl) and cussed (Boy) their way to getting chores done around the house.
Painful highlights included the installation of a single faux wooden blind that ended up taking 3 hours to put up due to a series of unexpected catastrophes (needing to buy a drill, splitting the wood of the window casing, shortening the blinds unevenly, snapping off a screw). Now that it's up, it is quite lovely. Ribsy can't wait to get his chompers on the wood, faux or not. It will be awhile before the rest of the house is adorned in the same fashion, though, as Boy and Girl need to find a blinds installer to do it for them. Thirteen more blinds x 3 hours = a full work week! Nuh-uh.
After the torture that was the blinds installation, Boy and Girl also worked on Boy's Landscaping Master Plan, weeding and planting a section of the garden adjacent to the waterless rock feature.
Ribsy yawned as they toiled, content to lie lazily in the sunshine. Hmm. Gotta speak to Girl about the possibility of getting him an adirondack chair or a hammock for the deck. His pet bed's not providing enough neck support - and these fence posts aren't doing the job either.
The weekend wrapped up nicely, as always, with dinner at Linda's house. Here Ribsy and Girl enjoy a post-dinner read - perhaps the latest issue of Modern Dog?
